Funeral Mass for Vivian Jane Holman, 89, of Sisseton, SD, was held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD, with Rev. Fr. Shaun Haggerty Celebrant.

Interment was in the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There was visitation at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to service time.

Ohiyesa Paul Firesteel

Ohiyesa Paul Firesteel, age 26, a member of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Community, started his journey to the Spirit World on Friday, May 13, 2022.

All services were held at the Tiowakan Spiritual Center, 14625 Prairiegrass Dr. NW, Prior Lake, MN 55372.

An overnight visitation was held Thursday, May 19, 2022 starting at 5:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. there was a prayer and time to share memories and love for Ohiyesa. The funeral was Friday, May 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Livestream of the service can be found on the McNearney-Schmidt Facebook page.

Max L. Fleischhacker, age 79, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Jenkins Living Center.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2022 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Waubay, SD, with Father Doug Binsfeld as celebrant.

Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery, Waubay, SD.

A Memorial Service is planned for Wednesday May 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Cahill Funeral Chapel, 516 E. Cherry St., Sisseton, SD 57262, followed by a graveside inurnment at Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD.

A Memorial Service for Danny Lee Coffaa, age 82, New Effington, SD, will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Walla Lutheran Church in rural New Effington. Burial will follow in the Walla Lutheran Cemetery. Dinner will be served at noon at the Legion Hall in New Effington.

Danny passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Coteau des Prairies Hospital in Sisseton, SD.

Brigadier General David R. Myers (Retired)

Brigadier General David R. Myers (Retired) passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the age of 78, following a long battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at Orcutt Presbyterian Church on Monday, May 23, at 1:00 p.m. and cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary.

Memorial Service for Richard A. Evenson, 81, of Sisseton, SD, was held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 1:25 p.m. at the Family Life Assembly of God Church, Sisseton, SD, with Pastor Vern Donnell officiating.

Inurnment was in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD, with Military Honors by Otto-Quande-Renville American Legion Post #50 and Ft. Sisseton VFW Post # 3342.

Visitation was Sunday, May 1, 2022 starting at 5:00 p.m., with a prayer and time of sharing service at 6:25 p.m. at the Family Life Assembly of God Church, Sisseton, SD.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Rudolph “Rudy” Sckerl was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St. John de Britto Catholic Church of Britton, SD. Rev. Fr. Albert Cizewski officiated and interment was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery of Lake City, SD. Closed casket visitation was one hour preceding the funeral at the church on Saturday.

Service and interment for Helen Huff will be held at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church Cemetery, 44844 123rd St., Eden, SD, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 10:30 a.m.

Following the interment, there will be a reception at the 4-H building in Sisseton, SD

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at 12398 Lohre Road, Sisseton, SD.

Funeral Service for Maynard C. Moen, 82, of Peever, SD was held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Mike Owen officiated.

Interment will be at One Road Bethel Cemetery, Sisseton, SD at a later date.

There was visitation on Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Bible Fellowship Community Church in Peever, SD, starting at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service and open sharing at 6:30 p.m.
