Timothy Donn Backman passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, at Avantara Nursing Home in Lake Norden, SD.

Celebration of Life service for Timothy Donn Backman will be Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Preston American Legion Hall.

Burial will be in Lake Preston Cemetery.

The funeral service for Verona Hofland was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Veblen, SD. Pastor Karie Geyer and Pastor Pat Schubert officiated the service.

Visitation was 5:30-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Veblen, concluding with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service.

Burial will take place in the Zion Cemetery in the spring.

Funeral Mass for Georgia Theresa Streier was held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eden, SD, with Father Ken Lulf officiating.

There was a visitation one hour prior to the service. There was also a visitation on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Cahill Funeral Chapel in Sisseton, SD, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with a prayer service and time of sharing starting at 7:00 p.m.

Interment will be at the St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery, Eden, SD, at a later date.

Funeral Service for Arlene M. Hanson, 95, of Sisseton, SD, was held on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD, with Rev. Pat Schubert and Rev. Joshua Knudsen officiating.

There was visitation on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at the Cahill Funeral Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. in Arlene’s memory.

Interment was in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD.

With her family by her side and her faith lighting the way, Stacey Joan Goetz passed into eternal rest on January 17, 2026, at the age of 56.
Public visitation was held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN.
A rosary was prayed at 7:30 p.m., and all were welcome to join.
On Friday, January 23, 2026, a public viewing began at 1:00 p.m. at Pax Christi, 4135 18th Ave NW, Rochester, MN, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

A Public Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Brookings First Assembly of God in Brookings, SD.

Steven Eggen was born in Sisseton, SD to parents Magnus and Delores (Westby) Eggen. He and his sister, Lindsey, grew up surrounded by extended family, sharing many cherished gatherings.

There was visitation at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

Inurnment will be in the spring at St. Lucas Lutheran Cemetery, Cottonwood, MN.

Cecil D. Stangeland, 86, New Effington, SD, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at a nursing center in Fargo, ND.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in New Effington with Rev. Karie Geyer and Rev. Pat Schubert officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt, SD, and will continue Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in the Ferkingstad Lutheran Cemetery, Hammer, SD.
