Funeral Service for Leo Royce Spindler, 86, formerly of Veblen, SD, was held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD, with Fr. John Paul Knopik Celebrant.

There was visitation at the Cahill Funeral Chapel from 9:30 a.m. to service time.

Interment will be in the St. Matthew’s Catholic Cemetery, Veblen, SD, in the spring.

Charles Howard Struck, 97, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023, at St. Gerard’s Community of Care in Hankinson, ND.

Funeral services were Friday, January 20, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in New Effington, SD, with Rev. Karie Geyer officiating.

Visitation was Thursday from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt, SD. Visitation continued Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial was in the Garden of Rest Cemetery, New Effington.

Arthur “Art” Winters

Arthur “Art” Winters, age 82 of Clear Lake, SD passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Avantara Nursing Home in Milbank, SD.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Castlewood, SD.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Military Honors will be provided by the Olson-Reid American Legion Post #250 of Castlewood.

Burial will be held at a later date at the Hamlin Reform Cemetery

Memorial Service for Leon Backman, 96, of Sisseton, SD, was held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD, with Rev. KC Smith officiating.

Private burial will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD, in the spring.

Richard Melvin Crooks, 86, of Sisseton, SD passed away on January 8, 2023 at the Tekakwitha Living Center, Sisseton, SD. Memorial Service will be held in the Spring. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Dick Arnold Rasmussen, 65, of Sisseton, SD, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital in Aberdeen, SD.

His wishes were to be cremated and to have one last party at the shop.

In addition, there will also be a memorial service held at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church later this spring.

Funeral Service for Mary Lou Nieland, 88, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Sisseton, SD, was held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD, with Rev. Joshua Knud-sen officiating.

Interment was in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD.

There was visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Mass for Ardeth M. Simon, 92, of Sisseton, SD, was held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD, with Fr. Gregg Frankman Celebrant.

Inurnment was in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. A Rosary was said at 9:45 a.m.

Hilman Maynard “Jake” Ja- cobson, age 91, a longtime resident of the Park Rapids, MN area, passed from this life to eternal life on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids with his loved ones at his side.

Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Park Rapids, MN. Pastor Steve Norby officiated.

Interment will be held in the Spring at Greenwood Cemetery, Park Rapids,MN.

Our beautiful, sweet, loving, kind, graceful, and sophisticated mom entered eternity on early Monday morning, January 9, 2023, after a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2023, at Central Church, 3100 W. Ralph Rogers Road in Sioux Falls, SD.

The family was present to greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Avenue. (81st and Minnesota Ave)
