Sisseton Girls end Tiospa Zina’s season

The Sisseton Redmen girls basketball team ended the season for the Tiospa Zina Wambdi at the first round of Region 1A play on Saturday, Feb. 28, with an 83-46 victory at the Ben Reifel Gym in Sisseton.

Sisseton jumped out to an 18-7 first quarter lead and extended the lead to 36-22 at half-time. Sisseton came out hot in the third quarter to out-score Tiospa Zina 33-7 to put the game out of reach of the Wambdi. Sisseton Boys season comes to an end

The Sisseton Redmen Boys Basketball Team season came to an end with a 20-56 loss to the Waubay/Summit Mustangs in the first round of Region 1A play in Summit on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

The Mustangs jumped out to a 22-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and cruised to the victory.

Sisseton places three at State Tournament

The Sisseton Redmen wrestling team had three wrestlers place at the State A Tournament held on Feb. 23-25 in Rapid City.

Tiospa Zina Boys move on to 2nd round

The Tiospa Zina Wambdi moved on to the second round of Region 1A play with a 37-34 victory over the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers on Tuesday, Feb. 28, in Summit.

The Sisseton Redmen Boys Basketball Team fell to the Florence/Henry Falcons 38-51 on Thursday, Feb. 16, in a double header with the girls at Ben Reifel Gym in Sisseton.

Nate Tchida led the way for the Redmen with 11 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 steal. Ethan DeSpiegler added 9 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 2 steals. Colter Hanson chipped in with 7 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. The Sisseton Redmen girls basketball team got their fifteenth win of the season on Monday, Feb. 13, over the McLaughlin Mustangs 77-37 at Ben Reifel Gym in Sisseton.

Sisseton held a 16-11 first quarter lead. They out-scored the Mustangs 38-10 in the second quarter to take a 54-21 lead at half-time, and went on to win 77-37 to get their sixteenth win of the season.
