Tchida commended for saving heart attack victim

On Aug. 6, 2024, a part-time employee at a NAPA Auto Parts distribution center in Des Moines, IA suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while at work. That means his heart stopped beating. Three co-workers jumped into action and saved his life. One of those is Cody Tchida, formerly of Sisseton. 

Cody is the son of Sharon and the late Rick Tchida of Sisseton, and is a 2015 graduate of Sisseton High School. In a recent ceremony, the Des Moines Fire Department (DMFD) presented him and his co-workers with their Exceptional Citizen Service Award of Excellence.
