The Rev. Pat Schubert was ordained at her home church Grace Lutheran Church in Sisseton on Nov. 1 in a ceremony that included many friends and family members.
She recently installed as the new assistant pastor to the Rev. Karie Geyer of the Combined Parish consisting of Faith Lutheran Church in New Effington, First Lutheran Church in Claire City, and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Veblen. Together, Karie and Pat divide their time and duties between the three congregations.
Pat’s path to her current vocation was not the traditional one, though she had hints of the calling to a ministry ever since she was a teenager. Pat attended Concordia College, receiving a degree in elementary education in 1984, and took a job at Sisseton Elementary as a fourth grade teacher the following year. It was after her retirement from the school, at age 55, that Pat enrolled in Wartburg Theological Seminary.
