The Bonnie and David Stavig family recently made a $25,000 donation to the Stavig House Museum Foundation in support of the museum’s mission to preserve and interpret immigrant history at the Stavig House Museum in Sisseton.

The Stavig House Museum Foundation was recently established the South Dakota Community Foundation as the result of a $50,000 gift from the James and Mary Page estate. James worked at Stavig’s Store during his youth in Sisseton, learning a work ethic that led to a successful career as a pharmacist and businessman. The museum’s goal is to match the Page family’s generosity with $50,000 in donations from friends and supporters who value the museum for preserving local history and attracting visitors to Sisseton. Inspired by the Page family gift, Bonnie Stavig and her family decided to make a gift to support the Stavig House Museum. For more on this story and many more please purchase a copy of the Sisseton Courier on news stands now or purchase a copy of the E-edtion on this website.
