Over the Fourth of July weekend, Tyan Johnson reached a goal he’d set at the beginning of the team roping season: he wanted to win a truck, and he did just that. He won a 2021 Ram 3500 truck at the National Team Roping #9.5 Freedom Tour in Rapid City by taking first place in team roping with his brother Tate, and by placing seventh with his neighbor Mark Hove. The combined points made him the High Point Champion.

“That was awesome,” said Tyan. “I was looking for a truck anyway. I was blessed to do well that day. It’s really special that I won with my brother and placed with Mark.” The competition included more than 520 teams.
