Fire at Sisseton Dairy Queen
A fire was reported at the Dairy Queen in Sisseton on Friday, Feb. 7, and the business has been closed ever since. The fire has been investigated and is now in the hands of the insurance company.
At this point, the presumed cause of the fire is a clothes dryer in the basement that caught fire and burned the basement and the floor joists above, along with owner Lance Pond’s guitar collection.
Future plans are dependent on the insurance company, but Pond hopes they will be allowed to tear down the building and rebuild a new one to start over, as there is extensive damage to the interior.
