Easter Bunny sighting

COVID-19 EASTER SUNDAY EMERGENCY -- Residents in Sisseton came out of their homes on Easter Sunday afternoon, Apr. 12, 2020 wondering what the emergency was as sirens could be heard going through town. Where and what was the emergency? The need to smile and celebrate the joy of Easter apparently. Jeff Pageler, Sisseton Fire Chief and his wife Debbie had the great idea to spread some cheer in the midst of COVID-19’s social distancing. In a typical year the FAN Club and other local organizations would hold Easter Egg Hunts and Fish Frys to mark this holiday season. Debbie dressed up as the Easter Bunny and waved to families as Jeff drove one of the fire trucks with the lights and sirens on to remind us all that we can still have joy in the midst of isolation. ~Courier Photo
