Bale Fire in Peever

There was a bale fire in Peever on Monday, Sept. 16, around 7:00 p.m. A semi and trailer hauling bales took the corner to go west of Peever when the bales were ignited by exhaust from the truck. The Sisseton Fire Department along with residents of Peever got the fire under control. They took the bales on fire off the trailer, sprayed water on the bales that were not on fire, and moved the burning bales to an unplanted field, where they were left to burn out.
