Sisseton Girls Golfers win Region 1A Meet

The Sisseton Redmen Girls Golf Team won the Region 1A Golf Meet held at the Valley View Golf Course on Friday, May 28. As a team, they shot a 397, 35 strokes ahead of second place Madison.

Sisseton’s Kelsey Heath was the medalist shooting an 82. Teammate Kierra Silk took fourth shooting a 99, and Emma Dahl took ninth shooting a 104. Elliot Hortness shot a 112 to come in 16th place, and Ashlynn LaFromboise shot a 124 for 25th place.

Sisseton will compete in the State A Meet Monday-Tuesday, June 7-8, in Spearfish

Tiospa Zina Wambdi capture ANFC title

Tiospa Zina put an exclamation point on its dominant All-Nations Football Conference spring season. The Wambdi captured the ANFC title with a convincing 38-8 win over Winnebago (Neb.) on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Joe Quintal Field in Mitchell, SD. The win put a stamp on Tiospa Zina’s 7-0 season and its first-ever state football championship.

Sisseton golfers win Sisseton Invite

The Sisseton Redmen Girls Golf Team won the Sisseton Invite on Thursday, May 20, shooting a team score of 407. Madison took second shooting a 420, and Dell Rapids was third shooting a 421.

Sisseton’s Kelsey Heath was the medalist shooting an 84. Ashlynn LaFromboise took third shooting a 95, Kierra Silk was fourth shooting a 96, and Elliot Hortness came in 29th shooting a 132.

Sisseton will host the Region 1A Golf Meet on Thursday, May 27, at the Valley View Golf Course.

Sisseton golfers win NEC Meet

The Sisseton Redmen Girls Golf Team won the NEC Golf title on Monday, May 17, at Whetstone Creed Golf Course in Milbank. Sisseton shot 368 as a team, defeating second place finisher Aberdeen Roncalli, who had a team score of 415.

Sisseton’s Kesley Heath took the medalist honors, shooting a 74 (31-43). Teammate Emma Dahl took fourth shooting a 94 (41-53), Kierra Silk took fifth shooting a 94 (40-54), and Saige LaFromboise took ninth shooting a 106 (45-61).

Sisseton will compete in the Region 1A on Thursday, May 27, at the Valley View Country Club west of Sisseton.

The Sisseton Redmen Boys and Girls Track Teams hosted the Sisseton Twilight Meet on Friday, May 7, at the Sisseton Athletic Complex.

Sisseton Redmen travel to Groton to compete in the NEC Track and Field Meet

Sisseton traveled to Groton for the NEC Track and Field Meet in Groton on Thursday, May 13.

Winning individual events were Andrew Kranhold in the Boys High Jump (5’9”) and Jay Chaudhari in the Boys Discus Throw (110’6.5”). As a team, the Girls team placed ninth, and the Boys team placed seventh. Milbank won team honors for both Girls and Boys. Redmen compete at Orville Pfitzer Relays in Britton

The Sisseton Redmen Boys and Girls Track Teams traveled to Britton to compete in the Orville Pfitzer Relays on Tuesday, May 11.

Redmen claiming first place in individual events were Riley Huff in the Girls 300 Meter Hurdles (54.11); Hunter Biel in the Boys 1600 Meter Run (5:21.04); Blake Nielsen in the Boys Triple Jump (40’3.5”); and Andrew Kranhold in the Boys High Jump (5’9”). Heath takes second after playoff at Dell Rapids Golf Invitational

The Sisseton Redmen Girls Golf Team competed in the Dell Rapids Invitational Golf Tournament on Tuesday, May 4, at the Dell Rapids Country Club.

Sisseton’s Kelsey Heath was tied for first place, shooting a 79 along with Maiya Muller of Beresford, but lost to Muller in a two-hole playoff to earn second.

Sisseton’s Kierra Silk took twelfth shooting a 98, and Ashlyn LaFromboise came in 23rd shooting a 106.

Sixty-three golfers competed in the Dell Rapids Invitational.
