Eugene “Gene” Hortness, age 82, died Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at his home in Canton, SD. His visitation was Monday, July 28, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD, with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services were Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. the Peever Lutheran Church in Peever, SD.

Dorothy Charlotte Hortness was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She passed from this life, into eternal life in her heavenly home, on Monday, May 3, 2021, at age 87. A family- directed celebration of life is scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Nelson Community Center in Peever, SD.
