The Summit Fire Department was called to a house fire around 8:45 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, where the house was engulfed in flames. The Summit Fire Department called for backup, with the Milbank, Corona and Marvin Fire Departments responding. The firemen were on scene for about seven hours.
Cade Renville, 11, who was in the house at the time of the fire, did not make it out. Tragically, he died at the scene. Cade was the son of April (Flannery) and Steven Griffee and John Renville.
