On Wednesday, May 3, a controlled burn got away from the burner east of Victor. It took two fire departments to put out the fire, which spread to some rushes and took off out of control, burning a path about 3/4 of a mile wide by 2 1/2 miles long. Rosholt Fire Department got the call first about 1:00 p.m. and called Sisseton to bring their ATVs to help put out the fire. The Rosholt and Sisseton Fire Departments were at the scene of the fire until about 7:00 Wednesday night.
