Sisseton High School juniors and seniors spent the week of Mar. 9-13 working with theatre artist Fran Sillau as part of the Schools and Communities program.

Sillau helped the students explore characters in plays they had recently read by using improvisation, creating scenes that were not in the original play, writing monologues for characters and reenacting actual scenes from the play.

Plays that were used were Macbeth, Pygmalion, and Raisin in the Sun. Teachers involved were Amanda Nordquist and Sharon Prendergast.

This program was sponsored by the Sisseton Public Schools, and Sisseton Arts Council, with support provided by the South Dakota Arts Council with funds from the State of South Dakota through the Department of Tourism and the National Endowment for the Arts.
