Five Sisseton Boys place at State B Wrestling; Hawkins brings home State B Championship

STEINER TAKES FIFTH – Sisseton’s Blake Steiner (right) took fifth place at 138 lbs. at the State B Wrestling Tournament held in Sioux Falls Feb. 26-28.

ANDERSON TAKES SIXTH – Sisseton’s Malachi Anderson (left) took sixth place at 175 lbs. at the State B Wrestling Tournament held in Sioux Falls Feb. 26-28.

The Sisseton Redmen Boys Wrestling Team brought home sixth place at the State B Wrestling Tournament held in Sioux Falls Feb. 26-28, with five Redmen wrestlers placing.

Sisseton’s Holden Hawkins accomplished something no other Redmen wrestler ever has by claiming a state champion-ship two times.

Placing for the Redmen were Holden Hawkins, who won his second state championship at 165 lbs.; Kayden Tchida who brought home second place at 113 lbs.; Evan Folk, who took fourth at 132 lbs.; Blake Steiner, who who was fifth at 138 lbs.; and Malachi Anderson, who took sixth place at 175 lbs. Anderson is Sisseton’s only eighth grader to place at a state tournament.
