Barse wins Region 1A Golf Tourney

Tiospa Zina’s Caleb Barse was the champion golfer for the Region 1A Golf Tournament held at Madison Country Club on Monday, Sept. 27. Barse shot a 76, two shots better than the second place finisher, Aberdeen Roncalli’s Mason Carrels’ 78.

Sisseton put two golfers in the State Tourney. Riley Steen led the way for the Redmen shooting a 91 to tie for tenth. Mason Gray tied for 19th shooting a 97.

The top 22 golfers from Region 1A qualified for the State Tournament.

Tiospa Zina’s Frank Barse just missed qualifying at 25th place.

Sisseton golfers not qualifying were Bradley Hansen shooting a 137 for 44th place, and Derek Karst taking 45th with a 138.

The State A Golf Tournament takes place in Madison on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 4-5.
