The Roberts County 4-H program has welcomed a new program advisor to its staff. Lauren Sankey of Lake City filled the open slot for 4-H Youth Program Advisor and Coordinator on Aug. 26, just four days after her graduation from SDSU with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies.

Due to the pandemic, Sankey spent her last year of college taking classes remotely from Lake City. In preparation for graduation, she followed area job opportunities on LinkedIn, where she found the 4-H job opening. Sankey was attracted to the job because of her past 4-H involvement, as well as her many experiences helping people of all ages. It also matched up well with her studies.
