A lot of activity has been apparent at the old middle school since mid-August. Seven young adults from five different states are donating their time to spending two months on a major renovation project at Thollehaug Commons through their service with AmeriCorps NCCC.

The National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), founded in 1992, was loosely based on the Depression-era Civilian Conservation Corps. The fulltime, team-based residential program invites Americans, ages 18-24 to spend about ten months working on four different projects, to be part of “the greater good,” improving the lives of fellow Americans.
